FBH is part of the research hub “6G Research and Innovation Cluster”
Scientists will drive research on the future technology 6G
In the “6G Research and Innovation Cluster (6G-RIC)” hub, the partners of the initiative will develop mobile communication systems with open interfaces across all technology frontiers. In addition to the actual technology development, the focus is on setting up a powerful test infrastructure. This infrastructure aims to test new technology components under realistic and open conditions in order to accelerate direct usage and support the establishment of a new ecosystem in the medium term. The Ferdinand Braun Institute will contribute hardware components for the new frequency bands beyond 100 GHz. It will develop advanced hetero-integrated transmitter modules that combine the benefits of the InP bipolar technology with those of (Bi)CMOS on a single chip, thus improving both coverage and transmission quality.
