Our sites in the metropol region Berlin-Brandenburg
WISTA operates the Science and Technology Park Adlershof in south-east Berlin and the Charlottenburg Innovation Centre (CHIC) in the west of the city. It is developing the FUBIC technology and start-up centre in the south-west and is responsible for marketing the CleanTech Business Park Marzahn in the north-east. In the near future, WISTA will also be managing industrial complexes (Gewerbehöfe) to connect craft and technology. Commissioned by Berlin’s Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, WISTA also runs the business office of the “Zukunftsorte” project.
In the Berlin/Brandenburg metropolitan region, the technology and innovation potential of scientific institutions and companies will be bundled in the new Berlin-Lausitz innovation corridor in future. WISTA supports the development of the new Lausitz Science Park in Cottbus and promotes knowledge transfer, networking and cooperation between the players in the innovation corridor.
Technology Park Adlershof
Adlershof, one of the largest high-tech locations in Europe, is spread over an area of 4.6 km² in the south-east of Berlin. As an experienced site developer, service provider and business promoter, WISTA acts as an initiator and catalyst in the science and business environment, helping to strengthen the economic foundations of the German capital. In Adlershof, we build, operate and manage technology centres with high-quality office, laboratory, workshop and production space, market properties and attract companies. In our Innovation and Start-up Centre (IGZ) and coworking space, start-ups find the perfect place for a successful launch. We advise companies, network science and business, intensify the promotion of national and international cooperation and promote young STEM talent at the location.
Charlottenburg Innovation Centre (CHIC)
The Charlottenburg Campus in Berlin’s City West is one of the most important future locations in the German capital, a research and development location with a focus on ICT, creative industries, arts, transportation and mobility.
Important research institutions are located around the Technische Universität Berlin (TU) and the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK): Fraunhofer-FOKUS, Fraunhofer IPK, Heinrich Hertz Institute, DFG Research Center MATHEON and the National Metrology Institute (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt PTB). Universities and non-university institutes promote the spin-off of technology-oriented companies.
Our Charlottenburg Innovation Centre (CHIC) is the first address for start-ups and those interested in founding a company in the technology or creative industries.
FUBIC Innovation Campus
The FUBIC – Business and Innovation Center next to Freie Universität Berlin Campus will provide space for technology-oriented start-ups and established young companies from the fields of life sciences, healthcare and information and communication technologies.
The FUBIC will not only support and foster start-ups and cooperation between science and industry. The 50,000 m² site also provides space on which established high-tech companies can construct their own buildings. Up to 1,000 jobs can be created at FUBIC. Due to the high density of institutes and technology-oriented companies, Dahlem is already one of Berlin’s “places of the future innovation”.
CleanTech Business Park Marzahn
The CleanTech Business Park Berlin-Marzahn (CBP) offers 90 hectares of ideal space for production-oriented companies looking for a place to grow with clean technologies and sustainable products in a unique and inspiring environment.
Industrial companies and young CleanTech businesses from the sectors of environmentally friendly energy and energy storage, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, circular economy, sustainable water management, (raw) material efficiency and green chemistry will find ideal framework conditions, attractive start-up opportunities and customised solutions for growth at CBP.
Industrial Complex
The industrial city: 100 years ago, people in Berlin lived in the front building and worked in the backyard. The so-called Berlin mix characterized the dense coexistence of housing, commerce and production.
With Gewerbehöfe 2.0, manufacturing is set to return to the city, but “without smoking chimneys”, as new technologies make it possible to produce cleanly, quietly, environmentally friendly and in a space-saving manner.
WISTA has started concrete planning for the first Gewerbehof 2.0 in Bornitzstrasse in Lichtenberg. The aim is to create a building with modern infrastructure in which traditional craft businesses and start-ups can work together on solutions and products.
Innovation Corridor Berlin-Lausitz
In the Berlin/Brandenburg metropolitan region, the technology and innovation potential of scientific institutions and companies will be bundled in the new Berlin-Lausitz innovation corridor in future.
Between Germany's largest Technology Park Adlershof and Cottbus with the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), a technology region with enormous economic growth potential will be created along the railroad line.
We are using our experience to support the development of the new Lausitz Science Park in Cottbus and promote knowledge transfer, networking and cooperation between the players in the innovation corridor.
