Touchdown at 633 nm
eagleyard Photonics introduces a new family of single frequency red laser diodes
With its new DBR1) 633 nm laser diode family, eagleyard Photonics expands its widely introduced Near-IR portfolio into the red. Integrated within the high reliable TO package style, eagleyard’s new GaAs2)-based DBR laser is capable of providing 10 mW @ 633 nm with a spectral linewidth of 750 kHz and below. The device is also available in a 14-pin standard butterfly package with fiber pigtail and incorporates thermistor, thermo-electric cooler (TEC) and a monitor diode. This proven design ensures a fiber-coupled output power of more than 5 mW.
“With our new products we are entering into a new era of single frequency laser diodes” says Michael Kneier, VP Sales and Marketing at eagleyard. “The compact design in conjunction with its narrow linewidth performance, opens new opportunities for eagleyard’s customers as more bulky and power consuming HeNe lasers can now be replaced with our product”.
These lasers are commonly used for various scientific and industrial applications involving biological research, spectral analysis, interferometry, metrology, sensing and a broad spectrum of other applications. The product is perfectly suited as an OEM component with its dense small form factor.
